Which degrees are safest from AI?
None is safe as a label. On the Job Resiliens AI Job Risk Index, 4 of 5 roles linked from B.Tech Mechanical career paths are Low exposure. In regression-adjusted Census estimates, the most AI-exposed majors saw initial employment fall five percentage points and full-quarter earnings fall thirteen percent. Compare the role, not the degree name.
United States
U.S. college majors are not the Indian qualifications in the table below. Census working paper CES-WP-26-56 says that, in regression-adjusted estimates, the most AI-exposed decile of college majors saw their likelihood of initial employment decline by five percentage points, while full-quarter initial earnings declined by thirteen percent, after ChatGPT. That decile is not a score for any degree page on this site.
The Dallas Fed lists computer science, computer engineering, and languages among the most-exposed Texas majors, and nursing, education, and psychology among the least-exposed. A 10-percentage-point higher share of automatable tasks is associated with a 1.7-percentage-point relative decline in employment rates. Among graduates who found work in Texas, first-year earnings for more-exposed majors fell by about 5 percent from 2021 to 2024, relative to less-exposed majors. United Kingdom and the European Union
In June 2026 the Office for National Statistics found that around half of UK businesses using AI reported no change in workforce headcount, and that just under 7 percent of medium-sized businesses reported a decrease. Eurostat reports that ICT specialists were 5.0 percent of EU employment in 2025, more than 10 million people, and that their number rose 2.6 percent between 2024 and 2025. Neither release ranks degrees. See the Europe hub.
India
The ranking below counts researched roles linked from each Indian qualification page, using published AI Job Risk Index tiers. It is sorted by the share of Low exposure roles. Alias URLs are counted at the canonical Index role: nurse is registered nurse, and doctor is physician. Job Resiliens does not publish a separate India-only replacement rate for any degree.
